The Agile Hawker is one of Rondo Music’s latest creations. A versatile guitar that provides a very broad spectrum of tonal possibilities. Available also in a 7-string model, and with some very interesting electronic additions, this instrument is worth the exploration. Lets do a small review on its most remarkable features.
Agile Hawker Overview
The Agile Hawker is one of the last models created by Rondo Music for the Agile brand, which is an advantage on its own, placing them far away from discontinuation as possible, and enjoying some of the changes in gear and construction product of the many years of trial and error since the beginning of the brand. As a testament to the broadness of its playability, the Hornet is a pretty versatile instrument, it produces almost no feedback at all, and it can adapt to a very wide variety of genres. Of course, if you’re an industrial metal player, you’d probably go for another of the Agile family models, but still, this is a very reliable axe for a heavy taste.
The Hornet is available in 6-strings and 7-strings version, most of them equipped with a Floyd Rose trem, though you can still found a standard one without it, and more that one lefties options for 6 and 7-strings as well. Some of the features common to most Hornet versions are a solid Mahogany archtop body (with a Maple top, depending on the model), Grover tuners, 24 jumbo frets on a Maple neck, adjustable truss rod, Rosewood fretboard and dot inlays, one volume and one tone controls with a 3-way pickup switch, 2 humbucker pickups (and there is a high end version with EMGs). Also, wide and low dual cutaways on the top of the line models. As we said before must 6-string models come with a Floyd Rose trem (the model of Floyd may vary), however, there is one that comes with a Graph Tech NVS2 bridge and string saver saddles instead.
7 Strings Agile Hawker
One of the latests introductions made by Rondo for the Agile family is the 7-strings versión of the Agile Hawker. This great model, apart for the additional string, also introduces some very cool changes to its predecessors. Some of these are, the replacement of the standard humbuckers for ceramic passive high output Cepheus ones, a Stop Bar Tailpiece, and a changes the scale length from 24 3/4” to 27″. Some models come with all gold hardware.
